LinkUnite V Interview Series – Mentorship Program

The LinkUnite Mentorship Program takes center stage in this episode, featuring three women whose stories connect the past, present, and future of the industry: Thais Silva, Co-Founder & COO of Beyond13; Emma Chrzan, the program’s very first mentee; and longtime industry leader Kathy Yang, LinkUnite’s inaugural mentor.

Thais talks about why supporting the mentorship program was such a natural fit for Beyond13, given their roots in education and their mission to help people grow. She also shares what it’s been like to step into the mentor role herself, working hands-on with her own mentee, and helping her navigate an industry that can be equal parts exciting and overwhelming.

Emma reflects on joining the program as a college sophomore, stepping into a world she knew nothing about, and learning through real experiences rather than textbooks. She talks about how much she’s grown from Kathy’s mentorship, absorbing lessons about work, failure, confidence, and the parts of this industry you only learn by being in it.

Kathy, with 19 years in the industry, a career’s worth of wins and lessons behind her, and a genuine passion for pushing the next generation forward, shares how mentoring Emma gave her just as much in return: fresh ideas, renewed energy, and a real sense of purpose.

Together they show what mentorship looks like at its best: shared experiences, mutual growth, and a network of women who are learning, teaching, and lifting each other up.
